Product Description
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTY
ALMER IODE IODURE causes to die all Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacterias, fungal, and spores including the viruses by transforming the protein and enzyme structures to oxidant disulfide and disrupts the functions with active iodine. Thanks to this effect when using externally with vaseline it is a strong antiseptic.
APPLICATION AREA/INDICATIONS
ALMER IODE IODURE is a local antiseptic because it is a strong germicide because of the active iodine which it contains. Also, it is an irritant, caustic, necrosing, decongestant. It has a revulsive and resolvent effect.
USAGE AND DOSAGE
As long as the veterinarian does not suggest otherwise, it should be used externally on wounds and on the skin for 3-4 days. There is no harm to use in pregnant animals.
UNWANTED SIDE EFFECTS
When used continuously for a long time, it causes puddle and rash on the skin. Do not use with alkalines because it can reduce efficacy.
WARNINGS
- Iodine is incompatible with strong alkaline solutions, ammonium salts, chloral hydrates, phenol, sodium thiosulphate, and starch.
- Do not mix with hypochlorites (when mixing the other chlorinated compounds occurs a white toxic gas).
- Do not use with mercuric antiseptics because of causing a chemical burn on the skin. Keep away from aluminum, copper, and its alloys. It is corrosive.
